Are you an expert in institutional fundraising and partnership management? Join Damien Foundation to develop and optimize our funding sources, maximizing our humanitarian impact!
As an Institutional Funding & Partnerships Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying and tracking funding opportunities, managing donor relationships, overseeing funded projects, and continuously improving our institutional fundraising strategies.
Key responsibilities
1️.Institutional Funding Strategy & Development
- Develop and implement an institutional funding and partnerships strategy aligned with the organization’s objectives.
- Conduct strategic monitoring of funding opportunities (calls for proposals, grants, financial partnerships).
- Identify, analyze, and respond to funding calls from bilateral and multilateral institutions, as well as private foundations.
2️. Donor Management & Engagement
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with institutional and private donors.
- Ensure proactive and transparent communication to strengthen donor engagement and long-term commitment.
- Draft and structure high-quality funding proposals tailored to donor requirements.
3️. Grant Management & Project Monitoring
- Coordinate the implementation of secured funding with field and administrative teams.
- Ensure rigorous financial management of grants and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools to track performance and optimize results.
4️. Representation & Partnership Development
- Represent Damien Foundation at strategic events to enhance the organization’s visibility among donors.
- Identify new partnership opportunities and contribute to funding diversification.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success and optimize internal processes.
Required profile
- Proven experience in institutional fundraising and donor relationship management.
- Strong expertise in humanitarian project management and budget oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (Spanish is a plus).
- Ability to develop structured funding proposals and negotiate with partners.
- Strategic and analytical mindset, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Availability for international travel as required.

Action Damien est une organisation médicale non marchande belge active depuis 1964, présente dans 14 pays. En Belgique, Action Damien soutient le projet BELTA, qui offre un hébergement aux patients sans-abris atteints de tuberculose, pendant toute la durée de leur traitement. Action Damien s’est donné pour mission de se mobiliser en faveur des personnes souffrant de la lèpre, la tuberculose et d’autres maladies infectieuses comme la leishmaniose. Pour y arriver, elle s’efforce d’optimiser l’accès aux soins de santé par le biais de formations du personnel local, d’activités de recherche et d’activités médicales ciblées. Elle s’emploie également à sensibiliser et à informer les populations, à faciliter la réinsertion des patients, à lutter contre la stigmatisation liée à ces maladies et à se doter de tous les moyens et ressources nécessaires pour y parvenir. 38 personnes travaillent au sein d’Action Damien en Belgique et plus de 1000 à travers le monde.
